INT. MILTARY OFFICE - DAY
MITCH, 40, IN GREAT SHAPE, enters the office and salutes Commanding Officer (C.O.) then stands at attention. The c.o. remains sitting behind his desk.
C.O.
At ease.
MITCH RELAXES, BUT NOT THAT MUCH.
C.O. (CONT'D)
Well I understand that you'll be leaving us Sergeant.
MITCH
Yes Sir, that is correct Sir.
C.O.
That's too bad. You are one of the finest drill masters we've ever had. Are you sure you won't reconsider?
MITCH
My mind is made up Sir. I believe that the mission on which I am about to embark is vital for the survival of our great nation Sir.
THE C.O. STANDS AND WALKS TO THE FRONT OF HIS DESK THEN PACES C.O.
I don't envy you your task.
MITCH
Someone has to do it Sir.
