Caines.
Caines placed his sword at my uncles throat, plunged it deep and twisted. He pulled out his sword and cleaned the blade on my uncle's convulsing body.
"Good-bye old man."
My heart shattered into thousands of pieces, with those words. My uncle's body stopped moving and reentered normal time as he died.
Caines returned his sword to his scabbard then felt the wound on his side. He flinched at the cut there. It was not serious.
He looked around, then stared at me. He slowly walked towards me. Every step caused my heart to pound harder, until it felt like it was going to jump from my chest.
I must have fainted, because when time resumed to its normal state I found myself falling to the ground.
When a timestopper loses consciousness, he becomes ordinary again, and he too stops in time. 
I slowly remembered what happened, I crawled to where my uncle lay. I felt ill. I threw up beside his body. I cried and cried. I vaguely heard others scream and others approaching.
I heard the hunters gather and say they would track down my uncle's killer.
They still had not come back and this was the third day since my uncle had died.
Time resumed again. I was back in the church. My neighbor's tear hit the ground, and Father Mahar finished his words. The choir began to sing, then the ceremony ended, and I helped carry my uncle Jauru to his final resting place.
